Minnesota leads the season series 5-1 after winning the last two in Seattle last week. Obviously the question is which Twins team will show up? The team that scored 20 runs in 3 games against Seattle, or the one that scored 3 runs in 3 games against Texas. Will it be the team that is barely staying above .500, or the one that is still somehow in the A.L. Central race.
My hope for the series is that Mauer will get his average back up above .300, Morneau will hit his first HR since 7/23, and that the young pitchers (Garza and Baker) will continue to pitch well.
Joe Mauer is hitless in his past 15 at-bats, and his average has fallen to .295. Justin Morneau's 92-at-bat streak without a home run is the longest of his career. Michael Cuddyer's home run Sunday was his 12th of the season and only his second since the All-Star break. The other middle-order hitters have not produced as much as hoped recently, but Torii Hunter, who has a six-game hitting streak, is batting .354 for August. via Joe Christensen

Which Twins team will show up? Really? We know the answer to that question without asking it. It's the same shitty team that finds a new way to lose. We can't even get a win against Horacio 7.38 (now 7.15) ERA Ramirez?
-Casilla 0-4
-White, Jones, Watkins, Punto combine for 1 effing hit?
-That's a horseshit 1/12, .0833 average. No RBI, 4 LOB.
I feel bad for Garza. That was a very mortal outing.
This team drives me insane. The lineup is full of guys who either belong in Rochester, or the National League.
Did you notice that Jeff Cirillo not only played 2nd, but also pitched the 9th inning, striking out 1 and walking 2.
Like I said in my post, which team will show up. The team that scored 6 runs (2 meaningless) in the first two games of the series. Or the team that scored 8 runs in the first two innings of today's game.
Cuddyer with a grand slam in the first.
Silva, 4 hits and no walks through 5 IP
