From LEN3
"Around 2 a.m. I contacted someone with knowledge of the negotiations. That person had heard that the deal was for four players: Jon Lester, Coco Crisp, Jed Lowrie and Justin Masterson. Notice that Jacoby Ellsbury is not part of the deal.
I didn’t run with it then because I really wanted to be sure. But I want to let you know this morning that’s what I’m hearing."
If the Twins actually pull the trigger on this Cy-tana for the PuPuPlatter trade I am going to be livid. It's bad enough that this would perpetuate the Minneapolis-->Boston SuperStar Express, but any trade to the Sox that doesn't involve Ellsbury and Lester/Buchholz is completely unacceptable.

And we're still waiting with baited breath for this trade to happen. It's so exhausting, and yet I keep tuning in --more frequently than I'd like to admit-- to see what the latest rumormongers are posting.
I guess unless the Red Sox come around and offer an Ellsbury/Lester plus package, I'm going to be disappointed. I just don't buy that Lester is top tier starting pitching. And still, none of us wants ANYTHING to do with Crisp. Face it. We need to get a leadoff/speed/CF & a front end (or potential) starting pitching. I don't know, maybe that's just too much to expect for the best pitcher in baseball.
Now look where we have ended up. The more I think about it and the more I read, the more I think Santana effed us. He forced the Twins' hand and pretty-much took all of their leverage away and we walk away with absolutely NO MLB-ready talent. That's not what we were looking at with the Sox or the Yankees.
SNY is tearing the Twins up. They are calling this a steal. I know that only time will tell, but I'm awfully frustrated at the paltry return. It's sad to go from elated by Cuddyer/Morneau locking up to this crap. I hope I eat these words.
One thing I wonder about is whether these pitchers will become pieces of a trade yet this off-season.
and we walk away with absolutely NO MLB-ready talent.
Well, Gomez may prove me wrong. I'll happily accept that after last night's performance.
