Twins (6-6) at Tigers (2-10)

Well, who would have thought that they Tigers would struggle this much with the lineup they now have. Detroit will eventually turn it around, but I'm not sure the playoffs are a guarantee like we all assumed it would be.

The Twins on the other hand, are a very average team. They are 6-6 and have played a fairly normal schedule so far. This will be a big test for both teams. A Twins (2 game) sweep would be disasterous for the Tigers, while a Tigers sweep would be a big let down for the Twins. I'm guessing a split will be the outcome.

Mon 7:05 Blackburn (0-1) vs Bonderman (1-1)
Tue 7:05 Baker (2-0) vs Robertson (0-1)

Damn you Matt Guerrier. This game should be over, not getting closer. Now it's 9-7, with no outs in the bottom of the 8th.

Now Neshek is in to see if he can get us out of this mess.

Fuck. He gives up a huge triple to Pudge, now it's tied up at 9.

Tigers have scored four runs this inning.

Purge tags up on a Jacque Jones line drive to Delmon Young. Excellent throw, but just a little late.

10-9 Tigers with two outs.

What a disaster. I knew Guerrier was playing way over his head last year. I don't have much faith in this guy. He doesn't have the tools to fool a good hitter. If he had a bit more velocity maybe. But he's crap right now.
And Neshek... I think he'll settle down. Gardy should have stuck Neshek out there for the 8th and left nothing to chance. No killer instinct with this guy. Detroit was showing all game long that they could put runs up at any time. Why give them a chance, even with a good lead? Hmm. Hindsight, I guess.

So damn frustrating.

Blackburn's 6th inning was the killer. Two quick outs and then an infield single to Sheffield. One effing out and we get out of that inning with far less damage.

Bottom 6th: Detroit
- C. Thomas grounded out to pitcher
- P. Polanco grounded out to second
- G. Sheffield singled to third
- M. Ordonez singled to center, G. Sheffield to second
- M. Cabrera singled to left, G. Sheffield scored, M. Ordonez to second
- C. Guillen doubled to deep left, M. Ordonez and M. Cabrera scored
- M. Guerrier relieved N. Blackburn
- E. Renteria singled to right, C. Guillen scored, E. Renteria out at second
